About

Life is a great carousel with multiple places to jump on and off, but how the heck do you keep track of it all in these days of quick information, short attention spans, scattered interests, and digital communication? Journaling? Digital journaling? Sure, why not?

Without getting into any lengthy, personal descriptions, I’ve listed a few, short facts to help any readers gain perspective on the slant of this blog:

  • Lifelong Mainer
  • Happily married
  • Pet owner (one cat, one dog)
  • In process of adopting from Kazakhstan
  • Teacher- 6th to 7th grade looping science teacher
  • Educational technology specialist (at one time)
  • Outdoor/nature lover (yes, one of those)
  • Health and fitness focus (but not always in practice)
  • Skier and knitter

So, enjoy the blog…or not. Looking forward to your comments and opinions.

Just found your blog through Google Alerts. My wife and I are adopting from Kazakhstan as well and hope to travel there sometime this Fall. But we also have another connection … I am the new VP of Online Media for Aspire Media / Interweave Press, publisher of Interweave Knits. Please drop me a note when you get a chance and say hi!

I just discovered your blog through a friend. I, myself am an adoptee from the Delphin baby home in Kostanai (several years prior to your visit) living in Maine! I found your story very charming and also very important, thanks for sharing!

We are also waiting for our LOI to Kostanai any day now. We were told we would likely travel in March, so I am sure that we will see you over there. You can contact us at chrisandtrish2kaz@comcast.net

My husband and I are currently in Kostanai adopting our son. We just had our court date yesterday (hooray!) If there is anything I can help with, any questions you may have (packing, process, etc.), I’d be happy to help. I think you’ll really like it here, it’s a very neat city. Good luck on your adoption!

ByChance, I’ve been following your blog and the reports of your adoption in Kazakhstan with great interest. I live in Almaty and met my husband here over 15 years ago. I have awarded you the “Best Blog Dart Thinker Award.” Please read my blog in the last several days to see what the rules mean. I know you have your hands full, but when you get around to it. Congrats on your new addition! Cheers! Kazakhnomad
